Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026.

1. Acceptable use

MetaClean is provided for cleaning metadata from files you own or have the right to process. You agree to use it only for lawful purposes.

2. User responsibilities

You are responsible for the files you upload and for keeping a copy of your original file, since MetaClean does not retain it after processing.

3. Prohibited content and use

You may not use MetaClean to process content that is illegal to possess or distribute, that infringes another person’s rights, or that you do not have permission to handle. You may not use the service to attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or overload the infrastructure it runs on.

4. File processing limitations

Metadata removal depends on file format and the processing method used. MetaClean does not guarantee that every possible metadata field is removed from every file, and specific limitations are documented on the How It Works and FAQ pages.

5. Service availability

MetaClean is provided on an “as available” basis. The service may be unavailable at times for maintenance or reasons outside our control, without prior notice.

6. Intellectual property

The MetaClean name, design, and code are the property of their respective owners. You retain all rights to the files you upload and process.

7. Disclaimers

MetaClean is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty that metadata removal will be complete or error-free for a given file.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, MetaClean and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including damages related to metadata that was not removed.

9. Changes to the service

Features may be added, changed, or removed over time as the product develops.
